4.1 How to Issue Engineering Backgrounds

Purpose

This SOP outlines the process for exporting, organizing, and sharing architectural files to ensure engineers have the complete information for project review and coordination.

Issue Engineering Backgrounds

Agree with the engineers dates for 90% review set and 100% completion.

Send them a calendar invite for the day of the deadline.

Export CAD Files

Export from Sheets.

Naming : Automatic - Short

Reflected Ceiling Plan.

Furniture Plan.

Save CAD exports in : Z:\Shared\3 - Projects\200020.00\3.2 - Design\3.2b - CAD\b - Working Files

Export Revit Model

If engineering firm is using Revit.

Go to the Lucid Link Folder  - \\lucid\filespace\1 - Projects

Copy the Central model to the Project folder in Egnyte.

Create a new folder with today's date using the naming standard in this location . YYMMMDD

Z:\Shared\3 - Projects\20000.00\3.2 - Design\3.2a - BIM\b - Progress Models.

Right Click the folder > Share > Copy Link Default

Email a link to the Egnyte folder location.

Export PDF Architectural Set

Make one PDF file from the Revit Model.

Include the necessary sheets to help the engineers understand the project.

To make sure you are clear annotate the PDF in Bluebeam.

Show detailed location of equipment.

Existing Condition Info

If the project is in an existing building.

Include photos, plans & Matterport link.

Make sure the engineers perform a site verification meeting.

Additional Info

Plumbing fixtures cut sheets.

- Sinks.
- Faucets.
- Urinals.
- Drinking Fountains.
- Hand Dryers.
- Garbage Disposal.

Light fixtures cut sheets.

Equipment cut sheets.

Diffusers style.

Action items

Save all files to:
Z:\Shared\3 - Projects\20000.00\3.2 - Design\3.2d - Design Process\d - Design Development

Create a folder with today's date YYMMDD_File Name

Right click over the folder to share > Show more options > Share > Copy link (default option)
