Located in Charlotte, NC, the Coliseum Drive project is a strategic building repositioning effort that revitalizes 3,000 square feet of interior space. Designed to elevate the building’s presence and functionality, the project integrates modern materials, dynamic lighting, and inviting communal areas to create an environment that fosters engagement and productivity.
The design emphasizes a seamless transition between indoor and outdoor spaces, incorporating shaded seating areas that encourage interaction. The lobby features a sophisticated combination of wood textures, bold geometric patterns, and contemporary lighting, enhancing the sense of arrival. Through meticulous planning and a focus on user experience, the Coliseum Drive repositioning successfully redefines the space, making it a hub for collaboration and innovation.

Modernizing a Class A Office Building in Charlotte
Five Coliseum Centre is a Class A commercial office building in Charlotte. Its manager, Colliers, asked Ossa Studio to modernize and revitalize the entry and circulation experience of the common areas, giving the building a hospitality-inspired look. The work was planned in several phases between 2021 and 2022, so the owner could renovate the lobbies, corridors and exterior entry step by step.
Lobbies, Elevator Cabs and Common Corridors
The interior scope covered finishes upgrades to the first and second floor lobbies, three elevator cabs, the WiFi lounge, the common corridors and a multipurpose room. Glass was added at the second floor lobby, existing handrails were refinished and light fixtures were replaced.
Later phases renovated the first floor public corridors and converted the WiFi lounge into a game room, with new carpet, wall base, paint, ceiling tiles and lighting. In the lobby and elevator cabs, the stone floor and wall surfaces were kept as they were.
New Glass Entry, Canopy and Exterior Paving
The exterior scope renewed the arrival sequence of the building. The entry glazing and doors were replaced, metal panel was added to the exterior side walls, and a new canopy, new paving and new soffit lighting were provided. A new double door was added at the existing curtain wall.
